If you are looking for great local and organic produce, mouthwatering baked goods, pastries and salads — look no further than the Rose Bakery. As you come across the modern minimalist faà§ade of this bakery on Rue Debblyeme in Marais you realize there is no sign, only the smell of freshly baked goodies wafting out beckoning you to come in, not mention boxes of colourful fresh produce stacked all over the place.

This boutique bakery was started by an English woman named Rose Carranini and her French husband, with the first bakery outpost in London (on top of the very trendy Dover Street Market next to Comme des Garcons). The featured store here is in the Marais, and is one of three to have opened in Paris due to its overwhelming success. Rose Carranini’s aim, as written in her Phaidon published ‘Breakfast, Lunch and Tea’ cookbook, was “to dissolve the distinction between home and restaurant cooking” and just one visit here you can certainly understand what she is talking about!

The menu rotates daily, and everything is beautifully presented with the service efficient and unfussy. If you are craving an English brunch, or just some tea with scones, cream and jam this is where you need to come in Paris.

You can find the Rose Bakery at these three spots in Paris:

40 rue de Debblyeme, Marais
46 rue des Martyrs, Montmartre
10 Blvd De La Bastille

*Just a tip, this place is rather popular and often has queues out the door so try and get there early, just before noon!
